There has been a good amount of chatter back and forth the past few years regarding IF (Intermittent Fasting) and sometimes the speakers on this topic go too deep with the technical language making it challenging to fully understand the 'how, what and why and if you should try IF. There are many different types of IF, you can fast for 12 hours for example you stop eating at 7pm and eat again the next morning at 7am. There is also the 16:8 where you fast for 16 hours and have an 8 hour eating window. There are 24 hour fasts and a few others which are more extreme. To gain basic knowledge the link for the Ted Talk is a great starting point, then I would recommend reading Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Fung and Dr. Valter Longo. I personally believe Dr. Longo and Dr. Hyman are the best resources to really dig in and learn more about IF.
The Ted Talk below given by a nurse practitioner is great because not only does she make the knowledge accessible but she touches on how it can help women who are peri-menopausal and in menopause.
